To get an insight of how the audience may react and feel towards our products we presented them each to the class and listened to their and also my teachers feedback on their opinions of how it looks. This was a very important process as it allowed us to see mistakes we had missed and also enable us to be able to improve other aspects to make it as good as it could be.
LOGO:
As you can see from the clip, after presented our logo to our classmates we gained some good feedback on what they liked and how it can be improved and therefore changed. The logo would be on the front cover of the digipak and homepage of the main website wo was very important to get correct due to representing the overall image of the artist/band, so the feedback we gained was very important for our overall grade. The feed back we gained from our classmates on the logo was mostly very positive with a few improvements:
- The logo is very suitable and matches the genre very well with indie/rock due to the colour scheme and simplistic look to it
- The font and texture we had chosen matched with image of the band/artist with a very macho, tough image
- Our teacher (Phil) suggested that we should continue using the silvery lines design with the writing of the name of the band/album as would link nicely to make a professional looking overall product
- Also one of our classmates (Alex) offered an improvement we could make regarding the lines which were too thin and therefore could be made thicker on the design.
WEBSITE:
Feedback from Phil: During lesson, Phil - our Media teacher looked at my website and suggested how could I improve it.
Here are some key points that I've written down about his feedback:
- I should add another page STORE, where I would include list (+ photos) of merchandise items , including two T-shirts (available in two colours - black and white) with the logo, hoodie, poster and album (CD, and Vinyl, signed copies)
- Add album front cover and behind the scenes photos to the news feed on the homepage
- Add more different photos to the slide show on the GALLERY page
- Add a back-story of the band (description of the band on the ABOUT page )
- Make the gaps between the LATEST news headline, news feed and logo smaller
- News feed post about new album should contain a button , which says BUY NOW, instead of READ MORE
- Check the spelling of the words (such as Birmingham)
- In terms of dates, place dates, places and BUY NOW button in line , so it would look more neat.
Feedback from classmates:
I have also asked my classmates to give their opinion regarding the website that I've created .
Again, I have received mostly positive feedback - all of them really liked the logo, and Perry , one of y classmates noted that the website is "clean and easy to navigate". Alex suggested that I should write a small paragraph about each of the members of the band under the manes, and Perry reminded me that i need to write their surnames next to their names. I asked them about write about the creation of the band - and they agreed that t is a good idea. Alex said that it would be really interesting to see behind the scenes photos from the shoot day on a news feed.
Those were some of the opinions, and I would react on their feedback by making slight alterations to the website, such a adding 'behind the scenes' photos.
